Psychology Appointment & Referral Information

This is not a crisis service. If you require crisis information, please click here.

Clinical psychology services are offered by appointment only. You do not need a referral from your doctor to see a psychologist, however, if you want to claim a rebate from Medicare you require a referral from your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician.

Medicare

Rebates are available for patients who are referred by their doctor (GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician) under Medicare for treatment of a diagnosed mental disorder (e.g. Mood Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Eating Disorder, Psychotic Disorder, Substance Abuse Disorder, Sexual Dysfunction, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Sleep Disorder, etc.). A Mental Health Treatment Plan referral offers a $149.05 rebate per session for 6-10 sessions per calendar year.

Private Health

Private health fund rebates are available, and are determined by the terms of your private health insurance policy. Enquire with your health fund to find out what cover your policy offers for psychology sessions.
